Accelerated Resolution Therapy

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could erase bad experiences? With Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.) it is actually possible. Based on gentle back and forth eye movements, A.R.T. helps to erase negative events, feelings, images, body sensations, and replace those with positive equivalents. You will always remember what happened, but the emotional charge will be gone. A hallmark of ART is a creative use of metaphors and visualization, which expedites the healing process.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is considered a leading approach for alleviating trauma & PTSD related distress. EMDR Therapy was developed by Francine Shapiro in 1987. Shapiro discovered that certain eye movements decrease negative emotions. The process entails a person thinking about a traumatic memory while experiencing a distraction via bi-lateral stimulation.

In addition to trauma and PTSD, EMDR can be very effective with anxiety, depression, phobias, social anxiety, panic attacks, performance anxiety, stress reduction, addictions, sexual and physical abuse, nightmares, and many other concerns.

Often our thoughts become negative, repetitive patterns that cause us to feel anxious or fearful. These thoughts can lead to depression and feelings that often immobilize us. We will uncover the core issues for anxiety, fear, depression, and stress, and begin replacing them new truths and current realities.

Family Counseling

Family is the core of humanity. It is where we learn so much that sets us up for success, but sadly some difficulties too. Family counseling can greatly improve the changing seasons of your families lives and help you better prepare for what life throws your way in the future.

I’m here to support and guide you and your family through possible misunderstandings and areas of distrust that have been built up over the years. It’s better to begin healing on these issues sooner than later as each passing day adds more layers to unpack to get to the core of what is actually happening. Building and learning good communication within a family sets you and your family up for lifelong success.

Group Classes

The good news is anxiety and depression are the most commonly cured mental disorders! I use a treatment called CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) to help people understand the cause of these disorders and help bring them to recovery.  CBT in combination with group support can help you achieve the healthy life you deserve!

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy changes people. CBT is one of the most widely practiced therapies in the world. No other form of therapy has the scientific validation and popular support currently enjoyed by CBT. CBT is essentially about changing the way you think in order to change your mood, outlook, and productivity. I’ve done this in group and individual settings and have seen first hand how it has changed lives that have fearful and negatives thoughts. Most people are not aware of those types of thoughts and how it has affected their lives, relationships, and even their own physical health.

Couples Therapy

It’s always difficult to be under marriage or relationship stress. The good news is you’re looking for someone to help.

My first job is to figure out the pattern of the problems. I try to quickly and delicately help both of you identify primary issues. Then together we can work through them in grace.

It's my job to help you both achieve a better understanding of each other and how to connect and achieve a greater sense of intimacy. There are as many marriage styles as there are people, so I honed in on who you both are and what you want out of your marriage. No boiler plate models or formulas.
